The ticket sale and the event page for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv have been launched.

At the tournament held from 22 to 28 April, six teams – Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Austria, Korea and host Ukraine – will battle it out for promotion to the top division for the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship that will take place in Copenhagen and Herning, Denmark.

The price for single-game tickets ranges from 50 to 700 Hryvnia (€2-25) depending on the category. In the near future various other tickets offers will be available for purchase. That means fans can save money by ordering packages such as a team ticket that includes five games of their team or the tournament package for a discounted price that includes all 15 games.

There are three sectors are available for purchase. The organizing committee is planning to gather fans from countries in different sectors.

“We are waiting for requests from participating countries for groups of fans. We hope that thousands of fans from the participating countries will visit Ukraine and will enjoy our hospitality and great hockey holidays,” said Georgi Zubko, Vice President of the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine.

At a press conference the symbolic first ticket was handed out. Vasyl Bondarchuk, a famous singer in the country, an ardent supporter of hockey and amateur hockey player himself, determined the owner of the first ticket for the opening game of the championship.

Before the start of presentation the invited guests and journalists left their business cards at the registration desk. During the event Bondarchuk took one business card out from the box and announced the winner’s name.

Ukrainian radio sports columnist and journalist Konstantin Dultsev with a companion will see the game between Ukraine and Hungary from the VIP sector.

“For me it was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t ready for it. Previously I have been going to hockey as a journalist with an accreditation or bought tickets as a fan. Now as a holder of tickets in the VIP sector probably I will feel myself as a VIP person,” Dultsev said with a smile.

“But the main thing is not this. The main thing is that we will have a big hockey holiday that organizers want to make during the World Championship. Of course I want the Ukrainian team make our supporters happy with good results.”
